Types of Missions

Each mission has its own particularities. In consequence, each simulator has to take into account all the mission specific elements. Simulators have to consider the following:

  • The type of instrument(s).
  • The number of instruments in the spacecraft, one or several.
  • The number spacecrafts to be taken into account in the simulator. If there are multiple spacecrafts, the can be flying in formation flying, or no formation flying.
  • In the processing (L1 and L2), some missions use a combination of products from different instruments of the same platform, or from different missions.

The simulator can use external data from other simulations in two stages, as an input to the Scene Generation, or to generate products in L2.
